It still amazes me just how quickly this summer flew by, it seriously seems like just yesterday that I was walking into the office for the first time! So much has happened this summer, mentally and experience wise!
This internship was such a phenomenal experience, and I wouldn't want to change anything about it! I learned so much with the help of my host manager, team, and fellow interns. I wouldn't be where I am right now if it weren't for those groups of individuals and I am truly thankful to have such a fantastic host manager and team by my side that purely wants to watch me succeed. It is a very rewarding feeling to know that my hard work didn't go unnoticed this summer, and I very much appreciate that the work just kept landing on my desk! As soon as I finished a task, I was immediately given another, as I tried my hardest to be expendable to everyone around me. Whenever I would meet someone at IBM, I would offer my assistance with just about anything they need, even if that meant just looking something up for them! Being that expendable was a huge advantage, as I got a ton of experience out of this because there was always something for me to do.
My presentation at Kent's SWAP session also was very successful! I was extremely nervous, but once I got started I was able to casually talk about the SWOT analysis and even get a few laughs out of everyone! I was also able to stay for the entire SWAP, which ran all day. It was a fantastic experience and I was able to keep up with majority of the conversation! I learned so much through this experience and I am so glad Kent included me in on it, let alone believed enough in me to allow me to present some information at the session.
My final presentation is today too, and while I am nervous I also am excited. This is a great opportunity to discuss what I learned this summer as well as let my personality shine through a bit through my speaking abilities. My S&D did not go as well as I had hoped earlier in the summer, I was incredibly nervous and unsure of myself at this point of my internship, as I had only been an intern for about 2-3 weeks at this time. I feel that I have grown since that experience and have become a much more confident speaker, and this will only continue to expand as I enter the work world after graduation.
